Say Cheese

‘What shall we have for breakfast then?’
I ask him as we wake.
‘A fat cheese omelette on its own
With strawberry milkshake.’

He rustles up lunch, while I work on Zoom,
Then sort the mid-day post.
I take a break, as I watch him make,
Some golden cheese-on-toast.

It’s Friday tonight, our take-away night,
About dinner, we do not worry.
Paneer and naan, and tandoori bites
Good old cheesy curry.

We stay up late, binge watching on Prime,
Feel peckish around one,
Pause the video to rustle up a snack,
The cheese platter is nicely done.

A cheesy easy day it has been,
Full-filled and ‘fed’ up with Cheese.
And after I brush my teeth breath well,
A bit more? Yes, please!
